LastObject: small changes, BIG impact...

You may have heard us ranting on about "making the switch" or, "swabbing your habits". And you may be wondering, what on earth are they talking about? 🤔

Well, this is what we mean: at My Favourite Things we really want to help people find products that will leave them looking and feeling their best but we also really care about the environment. LastObject is a Danish company dedicated to creating sustainable, reusable alternatives to single-use items.

What are single-use items? Basically, they’re those every day, disposable items you use in your routine such as tissues, earbuds and cotton rounds.

• 550 billion cotton swabs are sold every year costing the environment an estimated 220 million kilos of CO2. In addition 1-5% of plastic found in our Oceans are cotton swabs.😳
• 647 billion facial tissues are sold every year costing the environment an estimated 761 million kilos of CO2. In addition 28 million trees are needed for their production. 😱

Those are frightening numbers and don’t even scratch the service when it comes to showing really how much waste there is because of disposable items but also…how much of the earth’s natural resources go into making these items for millions of people across the world.

For example, just by using the LastSwab, instead of your regular disposable earbud, you’re reducing water consumption by 92%! 🤩

The LastSwab:

The world’s first reusable cotton swab/ear bud. It’s an alternative to the everyday cotton swab. Made from TPE, PP, and stored in a certified ocean waste plastic case, one LastSwab is meant to replace 1,000 single-use cotton swabs. Simply use, wash and repeat. The LastSwab also comes in a baby edition (for the little people in our lives) as well as a beauty edition, which is perfect for your makeup drawer. The LastRound is for every day use, made especially for the removal of makeup, application of toners and lotions, and you can even use them for extra deep cleansing and exfoliation. Here at My Favourite Things, we love to use the rounds to remove our facemasks, providing an extra deep clean, or for removing our Sara Happ Lip Scrub…the LastRound will give your beauty routine an extra edge, and you’re helping the environment too!

One LastRound case contains 7 rounds that are good for up to 250 uses each – that’s more than 1750 uses for just one LastRound case! 🙌🏻

All you have to do is rinse them and they’re good for the next use. For a more thorough cleanse, pop them in the laundry. They can be washed at 60 degrees.

💦 And how about this: every time you use a LastRound, you save 10 litres of clean drinking water. Amazing! 💦

The rounds are made from 100% biodegradable fibres, and don’t contain any of the harmful chemicals and bleach found in single-use cotton wool.

The Last Tissue:

It’s like a handkerchief and a tissue pack had a baby. It’s the best of both worlds – easy, on-the-go availability of the tissue pack, with the environmentally-friendly, soft-on-the-nose handkerchief.

One LastTissue pack contains 6 organic cotton tissues in a silicone case. One pack of LastTissue replaces more than 3000 single use tissues AND their plastic packaging! 👏🏻

The LastTissue case is silicone (because silicone is an inert, meaning it doesn’t shed toxins like plastic does, low-impact material) and the case contains a silicone barrier that divides the used tissues from the clean ones. The case can be washed in the dishwasher, and the tissues can be washed up to 520 times each at 60 degrees.
